How does the player ranking system work?

Every player builds up a separate ranking within each individual game. For instance, if you know a lot about football but not as much about pop culture, then your ranking in the Football Quiz will be higher, but lower in the Showbiz Quiz.

There are 5 ranking levels:

Beginner(during the first 5 games)
Novice(up to 1100points)
Advanced(1101-1200points)
Master(1201-1400 points)
Pro(over 1401 points)

During the first 5 games within a certain tournament, you have no ranking at all but are automatically classified as a Beginner. After that, your ranking is determined depending upon your success.

For every $1 profit or loss in your player account, your score goes up or down, according to the following schedule:

Beginner+/- 20 points
Novice+/- 20 points
Advanced+/- 10 points
Master+/- 1 point
Pro+/- 1 point

Example: As a Beginner or Novice, if you win $2 in a game, then this will earn you 40 ranking points.
